Everhot Heat Pump System Overview & Technical Specifications
From available specs:
Everhot’s 280 L R290 heat pump has wrap-around microchannel coil heating for uniform heating.
It uses R290 refrigerant, ultra low GWP (< 3).
Operating ambient range: approx –6 °C to +43 °C
Has a 2.4 kW backup electric element to assist when ambient heat is low.
Relief valve is set to 1000 kPa in many models.
The tank warranty is 5 years (for the cylinder).
The Everhot “split” heat pump + tank modules allow flexible installations (module can be placed away from tank)
The owner’s manual notes freeze protection: “In areas where the ambient air temperature may fall below 0 °C, power must be available to the water heater at all times to prevent freezing in the heat pump circuit.”
The unit is designed to heat up to 60 °C water temperature.
Maintenance intervals: minor every 6 months by the occupant (e.g. test PTR, check filters) and major service every 5 years by a qualified person
Based on heat pump general faults plus specifics from Everhot manual/specs:
Symptom | Possible Causes | Notes / Checks |
---|---|---|
No hot water / lukewarm | Power supply off, display switched off, sensor/thermostat failure, compressor not running, refrigerant leak, restricted airflow | Check display panel, ensure unit “On,” confirm mains supply and wiring. |
PTR / Relief Valve dripping | Excess pressure/temperature, worn valve, blocked drainage | Check relief valve operation, measure system pressure, replace valve if needed. |
Frequent running / never stops | Ambient too cold, coil iced/dirty, sensor or control faults, undersized unit | Clean coil, verify defrost operation, test controls. |
Noise / vibration | Fan motor bearings, debris in evaporator, loose casing, compressor strain | Inspect fan, tighten mounts, clear debris. |
Fault/Error codes | Overtemperature, overpressure, sensor faults, communication faults | Refer to Everhot’s display error codes in owner’s manual. |
Freeze or frost damage | If power off during subzero conditions, freeze in refrigerant lines | Manual warns: “power must be available … or damage could result. |
Reduced efficiency / high bills | Dirty coil, scale, partial failure of heat pump cycle, booster overuse | Routine maintenance of coil, anode, checking system performance. |
On-site diagnostics — check display panel, sensor readings, airflow, power, pressures
Clear quote — repair options with parts and labour before starting
Repair / replacement — sensors, valves, control boards, fan/compressor, booster, etc

Yes — we service integrated and split Everhot heat pump systems with module + tank configurations. The 251E280 manual is available for reference.
Everhot’s manual warns that power must stay available to avoid refrigerant freeze damage. If the unit is turned off in subzero, freeze damage might occur.
Minor checks every 6 months (relief valve test, coil clean). Major service every 5 years including full inspection and component replacement.
Yes — altering or bypassing safety devices or incorrect installation not in accordance with guide can void warranty. The manual states that warranty may not apply if installation doesn’t follow instructions.
