Creek mist, steep driveways, tank water scale… Tallebudgera is tough on hot water gear. If your solar system has slid from hot to “only warm,” the booster naps through cool mornings, or there’s a damp ring at the slab, Todd’s Plumbing & Electrical will find the fault and fix it properly. We cover Tallebudgera & Tallebudgera Valley most weeks — along Tallebudgera Creek Rd, Petsch Creek Rd, Connection Rd and the ridgelines — and we often restore hot water the same day.
One visit, two trades: licensed plumber + electrician together
Fast, instrumented diagnosis (flow, temps, booster draw, sensor calibration)
Fixed price before tools come out — no surprises
Temporary hot water units available if a specialty part is on order
Roof-safe access for high pitches, sheds and long driveways
Photo notes for owners, insurers and property managers
Tank & bore water minerals scale up tempering valves and pump internals → erratic temps.
Long solar loops on big roofs → airlocks or tired circulation pumps mean rooftop heat never reaches the tank.
Storm blips & timer drift on acreage → boosters miss the off-peak window; evenings go lukewarm.
Drifty roof sensors reading 10–20 °C off trick controllers into “thinking” storage is hot.
Collector wear on shed roofs — perished insulation, cracked glazing, loose wiring after hot/windy spells
Both trades in one visit — no juggling a sparkie later
Up-front options — repair vs replace with plain-English pros/cons and a fixed price
Stocked trucks — pumps, valves, elements, controllers, sensors, fittings
Plan B ready — temporary unit if parts need ordering
Photo notes — useful for landlords, builders and insurance
Pumps • non-return & tempering valves • controllers & roof sensors • electric/gas boosters & elements • leaking joints & relief valves • collector/flow faults • thermostats & wiring
Verify — measure collector temps/flow, confirm booster draw, sanity-check controller clock & logic.
Explain — plain-English cause + fixed price options (repair vs replace).
Do — safe access on high pitches/sheds; clean finishes.
Prove — storage temp & tempering set correctly; leave photo notes + simple care tips.
No-hot-water fallback — fit a temporary unit if parts are inbound.
If your cylinder is sound and one component failed, repairing is best value. If the tank body is corroded or the same fault keeps returning, we’ll price a sensible solar or heat-pump replacement sized to your roof, tariff and household. We handle supply, installation, disposal and warranties.
We routinely adjust booster timing and controller logic so your solar does the heavy lifting and the booster only mops up — lower bills without cold showers.
Rheem • Rinnai • Solahart • Envirosun • Stiebel Eltron • Chromagen (and others). Older/discontinued models welcome — we source compatible parts or suggest a smart upgrade.
Snap the tank label (brand/model/size) and text it through.
Note any error lights/codes and whether the controller clock looks right.
Active leak? Close the isolation valve beside the tank.
Power tripping? Switch off the HWS breaker until we arrive.
Often, yes. We bring roof-safe access gear and manage long access runs. If a specialty part’s needed, we can fit a temporary unit so you’re not without hot water.
Usually the booster missed its window, the pump isn’t moving heat from the roof, or a sensor is lying to the controller. We test all three before replacing anything.
Not always. Relief/tempering valves can weep and stain, especially with tank/bore water. If the cylinder is perforated, we’ll show clear proof; otherwise it’s a targeted repair.
Yes. We work on shed arrays, long pipe runs and high-pitch roofs, and we can advise on booster scheduling against your tariff/solar PV.
Absolutely. We size solar or heat-pump to your usage, roof and tariff, install it, and remove the old unit.
