Waking up to a lukewarm shower isn’t a vibe. If your solar hot water is misbehaving in Varsity Lakes — near Lake Orr, around Bond University, or off Christine Ave/Bermuda St — Todd’s Plumbing & Electrical will find the fault and fix it properly. Same-day attendance is often possible.

If the tank isn’t corroded, we usually repair. Pumps, valves, controllers and boosters are everyday fixes. If the cylinder is rusted or leaking at the body, we recommend replacement and we’ll size the right solar or heat-pump option for your home. Licensed & insured: QBCC 1126780 • Electrical Licence 71053.

Lazy circulation — airlocks or worn pumps mean collectors heat up but that heat never reaches the tank.
Boosters that try but fail — elements or relays don’t kick in after a grey run of days.
Controllers that drift — sensors read wrong, so the system “thinks” it’s hot enough.
Valve weeps — tempering/relief valves leave rust streaks on slabs or a wet ring under the tank.
Collector issues — cracked glazing, perished insulation, or blocked flow paths.

Water & power. We have plumber and electrician together = one visit.
Straight talk. We show the fault, explain options, and fix price it before we start.
Stocked truck. Pumps, valves, elements, sensors, controllers and fittings on board.
Backup plan. If a specialty part needs ordering, we can fit a temporary hot water unit.
Photo report. Handy for strata, landlords and insurance
Varsity Parade townhouse: Morning showers ran warm-cold-warm. Controller showed collector temps 20–25 °C too low. We replaced the roof sensor, cleared an airlock, reset booster schedule. Result: stable 60 °C storage, no booster overnight.

Pumps • non-return & tempering valves • controllers & roof sensors • electric/gas boosters & elements • leaking pipework & relief valves • collector/flow faults • thermostats & wiring
From Rheem through to Chromagen, and including Rinnai, Solahart, Envirosun and Stiebel Eltron. Older or discontinued gear? We’ll hunt compatible parts or suggest a sensible upgrade.
Snap a photo of the tank label (brand/model/size).
Note any error lights/codes on your controller.
Active leak? Close the isolation valve near the tank.
Power tripping? Turn off the HWS circuit at your switchboard.

Often, yes. Early calls help. If a specialty part is needed, we can fit a temporary unit so you’re not without hot water.
Either the booster isn’t engaging, the pump isn’t circulating heat from the roof, or the controller thinks the tank is already hot. We test all three before replacing anything.
Sometimes it’s just a relief valve weeping. If the cylinder is perforated, replacement is safer — we’ll show you evidence either way.
Yes. We book lifts if needed, protect surfaces, and provide photos for your records/manager.
Absolutely. We’ll size solar or heat-pump to your usage, roof and budget, install it, and remove the old unit.
